NON-PROFIT NOMINATION FORM Submissions are due one (1) week before the next meeting.
Only members who have signed a membership form and are current with their contributions may submit a non-profit organization for consideration. Current Steering Committee members are not eligible to submit nominations for consideration.
Non-profit organizations nominated must have a strong presence in and serve the residents of Franklin County. Completed forms must be submitted one (1) week prior to a quarterly meeting. This gives the Steering Committee time to ensure the charity meets the eligibility requirements.
Any charity or non-profit must be a registered 501(c)3 and willing to provide tax receipts to all members who donate. Those nominated must agree in advance of the meeting to send tax receipts directly to each of the donating members. While non-501(c)3 organizations are still eligible for consideration, contributions to non-501(c)3 groups are not tax deductible, so members must be aware of this status prior to voting. No political, religious, international or national organization may be nominated. National or international organizations with a local chapter may be nominated; however, the funds must be used only for a project that serves the Franklin County area.
100 Women Who Care Franklin County is an open and affirming organization, and does not discriminate. All are welcome regardless of race, color, ethnic or national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disabilities, age or gender identification. It is our expectation that any 501(c)(3) organization proposed as a recipient also adheres to these values.
At the quarterly meeting, the names of the nominated organizations are presented in individually sealed envelopes, and three are drawn at random. The individual who nominated the organization will have up to five (5) minutes to speak about the organization and an additional five (5) minutes for questions and answers (Q&A) from the members. See Presentation Guidelines for more information. The member who nominates the non-profit should plan to be present at the meeting. Please do not submit a nomination if you know you are unable to attend the next quarterly meeting. If you have nominated a charity and there are extenuating circumstances that prevent you from attending the meeting, please contact a member of the Steering Committee as soon as possible to work out other arrangements. There should only be one main speaker and they will be asked to stand in front of the room so that all members can hear the presentation. A representative from the nominated charity may respond to a question during the Q&A if the main speaker is unable to answer the question.
After all three presentations, members of 100 Women Who Care-Franklin County present will vote by secret ballot to select one of the three nominated non-profits to receive all the donations. There is no proxy voting. The non-profit with the greatest number of votes will be the recipient of the total funds donated and will be ineligible to receive funds from 100 Women Who Care-Franklin County for 1 (one) year. The other two presenting non-profits (not selected) will be considered at future meetings until they are selected or up to one year from when they were nominated, at which time they must be nominated again in writing.
There can only be one nomination per organization considered per quarter. If more than one member nominates the same organization, the first nomination received will be considered the selected charity. If the same charity is drawn again for presentation at a quarterly meeting, their nomination will be set aside and can be reconsidered at the next quarterly meeting.
At the following meeting, the charity that received the funds from the previous meeting will be asked to tell the group how their donations were used within the organization. For your tax purposes, all checks must be made out to the chosen organization.
Note: 100 Women Who Care-Franklin County Chapter reserves the right to amend these eligibility criteria when appropriate, without consultation with the nominated charities.
